Smithers Police Say Brush Up On Quad Safety

Smithers RCMP say they’re urging parents to educate their kids about unsafe use of quads and ATV‘s after people have complained of young people riding without helmets on prohibited roadways.

Mounties say the riders complained of appear to be underage and unlicensed and not wearing any safety gear.

Sergeant Jim Preston with Smithers RCMP says riding without proper training or gear is risky, and officers are ``deeply concerned’’ that dangerous riding will lead to a tragedy that would otherwise be preventable.
