Terrace RCMP Torch Run proves successful

(Terrace RCMP)

The Terrace RCMP recently released some information on how their first ever Law Enforcement Torch Run event that was held to help Special Olympics BC, went a couple weekends ago.

The RCMP said that the event was a great success as it managed to raise about $2,150 while getting donations from businesses like Skeena Valley Meats, Cooks Jewellers, Andre’s Electronics, Skeena Mall and many more.

Alongside the Special Olympics Athletes, Terrace Community Members and Local RCMP Officers who attended, Former Terrace Deputy Fire Chief Dave Jephson came as a Special Guest and brought a Torch that he was able to use during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

The event’s participants travelled about 5 KM on the Millennium Trail before making their way back to the Local RCMP Detachment to enjoy a barbeque and potentially win some prizes.
