TERRACE, B.C. -- It's been over two years since Lawrence Maitland disappeared from Lax Kw'alaams -- and his family and police are issuing a new plea for information that can help them find him.

Maitland was last seen pushing his bicycle on Victoria Street in the village in mid-July of 2019.

His mother Kathleen Maitland said at the time that he'd left his keys and wallet in the house, the doors were left unlocked and the lights were still on.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson says police suspected criminality was involved early in the investigation, but despite the help of the North District Major Crime Unit, the Prince Rupert RCMP have not been able to locate him.

Kathleen Maitland says she knows there is someone out there that knows where Lawrence is -- and she's pleading with that person to come forward.

Lawrence Maitland is described as:

        • Indigenous man

        • 44-years-old

        • 5’9

        • 187 lbs

        • Black hair in a slicked back mo-hawk

        • Black goatee
