City of Prince Rupert closes 2nd Avenue Bridge again

(City of Prince Rupert)

The City of Prince Rupert announced yesterday that the 2nd Avenue Bridge would be closed down once again for repairs, after a change in the traffic management plan for the project.

In response to this development, there is now an alternate route available for vehicles on the CN access road, although there might be occasional delays of 20 to 30 minutes because of train crossings.

Pedestrians and cyclists in the meantime are being asked to travel along Moresby trail, with anyone who attempts to travel on the CN access road without a vehicle can be fined by CN.

The bridge project is predicted to take about 2 months to fully complete.
