City of Prince Rupert finalises 2026 Budget and Tax Rate Bylaws

Earlier this week, the City of Prince Rupert confirmed and passed the final Budget and Tax Rate Bylaws for 2026.

The proposed Property Tax Increase of 3.7 percent was held and the budget is said to have a substantial capital program, which will result in major upgrades to the 2nd Avenue Bridge, a continuation of the BIG Project to replace the water and sewer lines and a repayment of the debt that was acquired to help build the new RCMP station.

Residents can also expect to see enhancements to civic spaces like the Rotary Waterfront Park, and that work is expected to be mainly funded by grants.
