6 May 2026—A northern B.C. couple says they’ve been left homeless after the owner of an RV park allegedly demolished their trailer with heavy equipment earlier this week.

The incident happened May 6 at a RV Park, where the couple, Cassidy and her fiancée, Rylee, had been living for about two months.

Cassidy says she returned to her trailer and discovered it had been moved. She alleges the park owner was using a bobcat machine to destroy the RV and their belongings. She called police, and says the owner left the scene shortly after.

The couple says they had been planning to move out on May 10, but following a noise complaint on May 4, they were told to leave within 30 minutes.

Cassidy alleges the situation escalated quickly.

“He came with an axe and chopped in my door and then went over to my power cord … and chopped that in two different sections,” she said.

Rylee adds Cassidy was nearly struck when the axe broke through the door.

The couple also alleges the owner cut off their electricity, damaged their generator and severed the cable powering the RV.

“Honestly, I’m not sure. I don’t really have anywhere to go now but a broken trailer,” Cassidy said.

They also claim two propane tanks were taken from the property.

The destruction left many of their belongings unsalvageable, including sentimental items like family photo albums, a generator passed down from Rylee’s grandfather, and personal equipment such as bicycles and a snowboard.

Rylee’s parents were among those at the scene.

“I feel pretty bad for the kids. They’re homeless … there’s no repairing it,” his mother said. “There’s a lot they’re going to have to deal with, and they just don’t have the resources.”

RCMP attended the scene and took statements.

CTV News has not received a response from the RV park owner.

To protect their privacy, the couple’s current location is not being disclosed.
