Some news has recently emerged involving a local store in Terrace that is known as New Age Insights.
Michelle Blackett, the owner of the store for around the past decade and a half, announced that New Age Insights is soon going to be switching locations while also explaining why this change is happening;
“New Age Insights is going back to my home. The economy has very rough on small businesses so you either close or evolve and that’s what I chose to do. I’m constantly evolving and I’m very excited about this next part.”
This won’t be the business’s first time moving, as it actually originated in Smithers before making it’s way to Terrace.
Blackett also disclosed some other ways that New Age Insights could end up evolving due to this change;
“We expect to have more freedom. Jenna, the manager of the shop, and I will be travelling to different towns around the area. Along with Cities and Festivals, we’ll be at the Mall a little bit more. But we’ll generally be based out of my cottage.”
This is also the third business location in Terrace that has either closed down or announced that they would be closing soon in the past month, with the other two being Artisantique and The Cove Boutique in the Skeena Mall.
But despite this seemingly being a sad piece of news, Michelle had a different perspective on the closure;
“I’m not upset that we have to close my retail brick and mortar shop because I just know there’s something else around the corner and that’s exciting. You don’t know what’s down the road and it could be something really amazing. Life’s never easy, it’s not supposed to be easy and even though we’re going through a real rough patch right now, something amazing is coming. I really do believe that, we just got to hang in there, keep our heads down and get through it.”
The current location is likely to close by the end of August.
The business’s new home location will be 5032 Agar Avenue and it’ll be open from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10 AM and 4 PM, with no calls being taken past 7 PM.
