It was recently announced by the Provincial Government that Prince Rupert’s Indigenous people, elders and families now have access to 70 affordable homes in the now open rental housing building at 830 11th Avenue East.

The four storey building was built with the intention of providing housing for members of the Lax Kw’alaams community and has a combination of studio, one, two and three-bedroom homes for people with low to moderate income.

Funding for the building was provided through the Province’s Building BC: Indigenous Housing Fund.

More construction on 61 new homes at 2300 Bellis Road near Seal Cove has begun as well.
