For the third time in the past couple of months, the Northwestern BC Area once again suffered another Internet service outage yesterday.
According to Citywest, it was around 10 in the morning when the outage occurred, with the cause being the same as the previous outages, copper thieves cutting fibre wires, although this time the wires belonged to a third-party carrier’s network in Alberta.
The outage affected the likes of Terrace, Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii, the Bulkey Valley and the Nechako and Kitimat Valley.
Service did eventually return that same day, in the evening.
