TERRACE -- On Tuesday, the four people running in Terrace's City Council Byelection were hosted by the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce for a virtual debate. The four Candidates were asked questions submitted by community members alternatively and would have one minute to respond and were allowed to rebuttal once during the session.

Some interesting proposals were suggested on a wide variety of subjects, when asked about reconciliation Dave Gordon suggested more first nations artwork throughout the town would go a long way. On the topic of the homeless problem and drug use in the downtown core, Alex Pietralla said that the city of Terrace is in desperate need of a rehabilitation centre and would work to make that a reality.

There were also some conflicting ideas when it came to Brawley Square, Joely Viveiros says that she would leave it the way it is, while Armandeep Saini says he would go to the community for ideas on how to fix it up. Other topics that were discussed were housing affordability in Terrace and acceptance with minority groups. The election General Voting day is June 5th at the Terrace Sportsplex.
