TERRACE -- A tragic accident last Sunday has taken the life of a Terrace teenager resulting from her injuries in an ATV accident. Erin Lockhart, the victim's aunt, posted on social media that a GoFundMe page has been created to cover the family's expenses. To date, the fund has more than doubled its goal of $10,000, reaching over $27,900.

The young girl, Brooke, was medivaced to Kelowna after suffering severe damage on the left side of her brain resulting from the accident and that the main artery to her brain has been damaged beyond repair. In addition, Kelsey, the victim's mother, wrote that her daughter wasn't wearing a helmet after she insisted that she wear one.

An update on the situation said that initially, the doctors had hoped that even though the right-hand side of Brooke's brain was damaged, the swelling could possibly go down, but Brooke suffered what they believe to be a hemorrhage on her right side.

It was soon determined that Brooke no longer had any brain activity and was pronounced deceased at approximately 6 pm on May 25th. Brooke's mother writes that she wants everyone to remember her daughter as the most amazing, caring, hilarious, fun, loving person. She notes that they appreciate everyone's thoughts, well wishes, messages, and donations.
